Make your visit to Paris even more enjoyable and cheaper with a City Pass!
City Passes (aka. Multi Venue Tickets or Passapartouts) come in many shapes and sizes. Some are created by the city's official Tourism Office but the majority is managed by private companies that offer you a discount if you buy tickets to multiple venues at a time. They simply split their sales commissions with you!
Here are 6 things you need to pay attention to when purchasing a City Pass:
- Is availability of tickets guaranteed? - If not, make sure to make your final selection well in advance or you may not be able to visit the most popular venues
- Are you buying for the source directly? - If you buy a pass through a distributor you may not get as good a deal because the commissions must be split over multiple companies.
- Are all the venues you care for included? - Read carefully. Not everything that is mentioned might be included.
- Guided tours that enter a venue may offer better availability as they often buy the tickets in advance.
- The more venues, the greater the discount - The more items included in your pass, the higher the discount generally is. But be aware that if you regret you generally cannot cancel anymore!
- Check for skip-the-line privileges - Avoid having to queue up more than a few minutes, especially in summer. Check for skip-the-line, straight-to-turnstile or security-check-only tickets.
The best option In our opinion the best option is the Paris City Card from Tiqets. Although it offers a fixed set of museums all the must-sees are in there. Great value for money and very positive reviews.
